MADDER MORTEM Delve Into 'Creepy And Dark' Territory On Upcoming Album
January 12, 2004Norway's MADDER MORTEM have posted the following message on their official web site:
"Happy New Year! A new, hopefully busy new year has begun for the Madders. We're still writing songs for our next album and we hope that we'll have all the songs written by the end of February/early March. If everything turns out the way we'd like it to, we'll then head for the studio in April/May and release the album in August/September. But, remember that this is not the actual schedule, but what we wish for. So far, we have about 5 or 6 songs that's more or less finished and they really kick some serious ass!
"The material is, as you could've guessed, quite different from [2002's] 'Deadlands', but not a total departure from that style. In some ways I think it's even meaner, maybe not that depressive, but obviously pretty creepy and dark. While 'Deadlands' had a really homogenic feel to it, I think this one's going differ more to the various extremes and have a more restless and frustrating feeling. More experimental and crazy ideas, heavier and more various forms of playing in all instruments and vocals. I think there's quite a few surprises waiting for everyone."
MADDER MORTEM recently announced the addition of guitarist Odd Eivind Ebbesen and bassist Tormod Langøien Moseng to the group's ranks.
